ABOUT MARY CLARE
Mary Clare Bromley was born in Kissimmee, Florida in 1926, and started painting at age 10 at Coover Studios in Orlando, and at Newman School of Fine Art at age 15. After majoring in art at Florida Southern College, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and attended the High Museum of Art. She also took private classes in Atlanta from the Chatov Brothers.
Mary Clare has always painted with oil on canvas, and her subjects include people, landscapes, and animals. Her wildlife paintings are a result of visiting zoos from all over the world. In 2024 at age 98, Mary Clare decided to retire, after completing a painting of her son Craig’s Russian Blue cat named Helen Mirren.
